Who we are
El Hudaa NPC (registration 2017/10260/08) runs El Hudaa Islamic Centre at 495 Hilma Street, Zuurbekom, Westonaria. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website.

What we collect
We only collect what you type into the donation form:
- Your first name and, if you add it, your last name
- Your email address
- Your mobile number, if you add it
- What you're giving to, the amount, and whether it's monthly
- Whether you'd like a Section 18A tax certificate
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Process your donation and send you a receipt
- Allocate Zakaat and general (Lillah) donations to the right fund
- Issue a Section 18A tax certificate when you ask for one. SARS may require extra details such as your ID or tax number and address, which we'll ask you for directly.
- Answer your questions about a donation
Card payments
Card donations are processed by PayFast. You enter your card details on PayFast's secure page, not on our website, so we never see or store your card number.
We pass PayFast your name, email, mobile number, the amount and a donation reference. PayFast then emails a confirmation to you and to us. PayFast's own privacy policy applies to what it does with your information.
Bank transfers and WhatsApp
If you choose bank transfer, your details stay on your device. They are only used to prepare a WhatsApp message with your donation details. Nothing is sent to us unless you choose to send that message. WhatsApp's privacy policy applies to messages you send through it.
What we don't do
This website doesn't use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics tools. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
Other services on this website
The website is hosted by Vercel, which records basic technical information such as IP addresses to keep the site running and secure.
The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
How long we keep it
We keep donation records, including PayFast confirmations and Section 18A certificates, for as long as South African tax law requires, which is currently five years. After that we delete them.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Object to us using it
- Lay a complaint with the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za
Photos of children
We share photos of the children in our programmes only with a parent or guardian's permission. To have a photo removed, contact us at info@elhudaa.org and we'll take it down.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
